My name is Dave Sharpe and I am a 32 year old climber and skier based in the Lake District, England.
I have been climbing for over 20 years and skiing for around 12, and throughout this time have been fortunate enough to be able to pursue my passion from first steps climbing around my home in the Lake District, to further afield in Scotland and the Alps. I enjoy many different types of climbing, but feel especially passionate about British winter and alpine climbing.
My time skiing began purely as a means of travel around the Alps when climbing during the snowier months, however this quickly changed and I now enjoy spending a large part of the winter skiing and ski-mountaineering wherever conditions allow. I really enjoy the terrain the European Alps have to offer, and in winter there really is no better way to get around!
I am an Aspirant IFMGA Mountain Guide training with the BMG Association. I hope that when qualified I will be able to share some of the amazing experiences I have had in the mountains with many other people. I also work regularly in rope access as an IRATA L3.
On this site you will find tales of my latest adventures, conditions reports, gear reviews and lots of pretty pictures which will hopefully give you some ideas of nice places to go and good things to do.
I hope you enjoy it!
